Promoting and Cultivating Arts Since 1976
Welcome to the Worcester County Arts Council - the Home of the Arts!
The Worcester County Arts Council was designated the local arts agency for Worcester County by the Worcester County Commissioners in 1976. As a non-profit, 501 (c3) organization, the Arts Council works to lead the way in support of the Arts with programs designed to encourage diversity, access, and inclusion of everyone in the Community.
We strive to bring the Arts to under-served areas of the Community with its wealth of free, high-quality art exhibits, activities, performances, and other cultural art programming designed for children and adults alike.

WORCESTER COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL ART COMPETITION & EXHIBIT BERLIN LIBRARY GALLERY (Artwork by 2024 PLEIN AIR Artists) GULL CREEK GALLERY
The Worcester County Arts Council invites artists to submit their entries for a juried art competition exploring the subject of "Peace." This competition challenges creatives to delve into the multifaceted concept of peace and bring it to life through their unique artistic vision.
All entries will be juried in and judged for the competition by local artist and art educator and WCAC's Board Member, KATE CASHMAN.
Entries will be accepted: February 27-29, from 11 am - 2 pm.
The exhibit will be on display from March 1 - April 28, 2024.
Peace is a universal ideal, yet its meaning varies deeply from person to person. Through this competition, we encourage artists to interpret peace in ways that resonate with them - whether it's the quiet stillness of nature, the resilience of communities coming together, or the personal pursuit of balance and healing.
Interpreting Peace Through Art:
• What does inner peace look like in your mind’s eye?
• How can art inspire harmony in divided societies?
• Can beauty and creativity become pathways to global unity?
Artists are invited to create pieces that speak to the emotional, spiritual, and societal dimensions of peace. Whether your work expresses a longing for harmony, a reflection on struggles overcome, or a hopeful vision for the future, we want to see how you interpret this profound theme.
Eligibility:
This competition is open to all artists in all mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, mixed media, and beyond. Emerging and established artists alike are encouraged to participate.
Detailed guidelines for the competition are available HERE.
Artists are requested to complete a juried exhibit ENTRY FORM and deliver it along with their entries for the competition.
ART FOR THE HEART - LITTLE FREE GALLERY
OFFICIALLY OPEN!
We are excited to invite you to visit the Art for the Heart - Little Free Gallery, a community-driven space where creativity, healing, and community come together! This new gallery is dedicated to the transformative power of art in promoting emotional well-being, mental health, and connection.
The gallery space, located at the front of the Arts Council building, opened its doors on Friday, November 29th, and serves as a free, accessible space for both viewing and sharing art.
This initiative is especially meaningful as the gallery itself was built by a World War II veteran, Mr. James Panzetta, whose personal journey of healing through craftsmanship and creativity led him to construct this tiny gallery space.
Art for the Heart is more than just a place to view and share art; it’s a space for healing through creativity, where every piece invites reflection, joy, and emotional expression. Art for the Heart Little Free Gallery is a space where everyone is welcome to share, discover, and connect.
Take home a piece that resonates with you, add your own creation to the gallery, or simply enjoy the positive energy of a space built around art, well-being, and connection.
Through local artists' works, we offer a range of pieces that can inspire, uplift, and spark meaningful conversations around well-being, mental health, and healing.
We can't wait to share the love of art with you all as we celebrate the opening of this unique, community-driven space! Enjoy the art and maybe even take home a piece that speaks to your heart!
